On July 30th, we celebrated the end of the 2014-2015 Phillips VISTA cohort and the beginning of the 2015-2016 cohort. We were joined by VISTA alumni, supervisors, coworkers, and friends to celebrate the accomplishments of the current VISTAs, to welcome the incoming ones, and to have some great food and fun!
[table “9” not found /]The next Friday, we had our first VISTA meeting with the 2015-2016 cohort! We learned the history of the foundation and Michael Donahue from the International Institute of Minnesota lead us through a presentation on creating equitable workforce practices in the Twin Cities. We explored Northeast Minneapolis, and even took some pictures!
