Elizabeth Coco is Program Director—Economic Ecosystem at the Foundation. In this role, Coco directs all community impact efforts and grantmaking activities within the small business and entrepreneurship ecosystem grantmaking portfolio. Coco joined the Foundation in fall 2015 as the VISTA Program Manager. In June 2017, she was promoted to the role of Program Officer dedicated to the Foundation’s Entrepreneurship and Small Business Ecosystem grantmaking strategy. As a qualified administrator of the Intercultural Development Inventory, Coco also leads staff and board learning activities and all diversity, equity and inclusion activities for the organization. She comes to the Foundation from the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits where she founded the MCN VISTA Program. Coco earned her BA from Gustavus Adolphus College with degrees in religion and gender, women and sexuality studies and has a deep passion and dedication for racial and economic justice. Additionally, Coco serves as Board Co-Chair of the Headwaters Foundation for Justice and is an Advisory Board member of the Minneapolis Commercial Land Trust Initiative. In 2020, Coco was selected as a PLACES Fellow, hosted by The Funder’s Network.
