Elizabeth Coco is a Program Officer at the Foundation. Coco joined the Foundation in fall 2015 to launch and manage the C3 Twin Cities VISTA Program. With the program sun setting in summer of 2019, Coco is now dedicated fulltime to the Foundation’s Entrepreneurship and Small Business Ecosystem grantmaking strategy in partnership with the President. In addition to grantmaking and engagement activities, Coco leads staff and board learning activities centering a diversity, equity and inclusion lens. Coco comes to the Foundation from the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits where she founded the MCN VISTA Program focused on directing resources towards culturally based nonprofit organizations. Previously, she served as a VISTA member at MCN and completed a year with AmeriCorps serving as a Minnesota Reading Corps Pre-K Literacy tutor at Bethune Community School in North Minneapolis. Coco earned her BA from Gustavus Adolphus College with degrees in religion and gender, women and sexuality studies and has a deep passion and dedication for social, economic and racial justice. In 2020, Coco was selected as a PLACES Fellow, hosted by The Funder’s Network. This fellowship brings together leaders in philanthropy who will embark on a year-long curriculum focusing on race, equity and inclusion. Additionally, Coco serves on the Board of Directors of the Headwaters Foundation for Justice and is Advisory Board member of the Minneapolis Commercial Land Trust Initiative.
