In Memoriam

Over the last couple of years, our family has mourned the loss of several members.  Their contributions to our communities have been significant and they will not soon be forgotten.  Below are brief memorials to each of them along with links to learn more about these wonderful members of our family.

Eddie Phillips

Eddie PhillipsThe trustees and staff of The Jay and Rose Phillips Family Foundation of Minnesota mourn the loss of our long-time trustee and chair, Eddie Phillips. Eddie passed away on April 8, 2011 at the age of 66, following a courageous 9-year battle with multiple myeloma. Eddie was a long-time resident of Minneapolis and the grandson of Jay and Rose Phillips, the founders of our Foundation. His energy, excellent business sense, passion for the community, infectious smile and sense of humor will be greatly missed. His passing is a tremendous loss for our Foundation, his family, friends and the community. Pauline Phillips

Pauline PhillipsThe Jay and Rose Phillips Family Foundation of Minnesota acknowledges the passing of former trustee Pauline Friedman Phillips after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was 94.

We are grateful for all of your well wishes and expressions of condolence.  Popo, as she was known to her family and friends, will be missed.

Suzie Levin

Suzie LevinThe Jay & Rose Phillips Family Foundation of Minnesota was saddened to hear of the death of former Trustee, Suzan Levin Corben, following a long battle with cancer. She was 65. A native of Los Angeles, CA, Suzie served as a Trustee of the Foundation from 1992-2010 and was an active member of the Grants Committee. She continued to serve as a trustee of the Jay & Rose Phillips Family Foundation of California after it was established in 2011.
